Mining company, Zanzibar Gold (ZBR) has appointed Greg Bronson to the positions of President and Chief Executive Officer.

Greg brings with him over 29 years’ experience as a senior geologist, during which he has garnered excellent technical skills. These include exploration and drill program design and implementation, geological mapping, structural and computer modelling, resource estimates, and interpretation of geological, geophysical, and geochemical data.

Greg has previously worked for Noranda Exploration, Rockgate Capital, Madjak Management, Sentinel Resources, and his own consulting company, Rae-co Consulting.

As a result of his extensive career, he has also gained leadership skills, including familiarity with mineral exploration project management and property acquisition.

This will serve him well as he oversees the development of Zanzibar’s newly acquired Sonora Gold project. The project is located in the Mexican state of Sonora, approximately halfway between the state’s capital, Hermosillo, and Tucson, Arizona in the United States.

As such, the project lies within the Carborca gold belt, which hosts a number of historical and operating mines. Just 18 kilometres north of the Sonora Gold project lies the San Francisco Gold Mine, which has produced over 1 million ounces of gold thus far.

The company’s project has concessions which cover a continuous area of 6,000 hectares. This area includes excellent infrastructure, highway access, available power, and skilled labour on both sides of the nearby US-Mexican border.

Incoming President and CEO, Greg Bronson, said that he is very excited to join the Zanzibar team.

“I believe Zanzibar has a great future with its newly acquired Sonora Gold project. Zanzibar has developed a talented Canadian/Mexican exploration team that uniquely positions it to capitalise on the growing gold environment.

“As the gold sector evolves through higher commodity prices, I believe Zanzibar can provide cost-effective exploration results and timely project news with Sonora Gold project,” he said.

Zanzibar Gold (ZBR) is up 2.63 per cent and is trading at C$0.39 per share, as of 2:04pm EDT.
