The Yield Growth (BOSS) has launched a new e-commerce site to bolster direct sales of its hand sanitiser brand Urban Juve.

The site will also include Urban Juve’s complimentary body wellness products as well as other cosmetics.

E-commerce has recently seen a strong uptick in traffic, as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its resulting lockdowns draw users online.

Following this sharp rise, Shopify (TSX:SHOP), a software service used to develop ecommerce sites, has risen more than 170 per cent since the onset of coronavirus.

According to a report by the US department of commerce, in the last quarter US-based online retail sales rose more than 14 per cent, when compared to 2019’s same quarter.

Yield Growth hopes to pair the rise in online sales with the similar rise in sanitiser products.

The company released its Urban Juve product line in the weeks following the onset of COVID-19. Health Canada licensed the product quickly as part of expedited approval process intended to shore up sanitiser supplies during the pandemic.

The site launch follows the products listing on Amazon.ca, earlier this week.

Karla Cheon, Vice President of Marketing for Yield Growth, said the new ecommerce site is a key strategic project for Urban Juve.

“It not only improves the customers’ experience with our brand but is a solid platform upon which we can now develop and expand conversion-driven marketing programs such as influencer and affiliate programs, subscription models, and more.

“This initiative, combined with web traffic-generation efforts, will provide quality customer data for Urban Juve to nurture its loyal and growing customer base who are seeking plant-based alternatives for their skin,” she said.

The Yield Growth (BOSS) is up 5.26 per cent and is trading at C$0.10 per share at 1:42am EDT.
