Perusing apartment or vacation rentals online has become almost essential in today’s market, and companies such as ApartmentLove Inc. (CSE:APLV) are at the forefront of this innovation.

With its headquarters out of Toronto, the company provides online home, apartment and vacation rental marketing services to property managers, owners, renters and vacationers. In line with this, ApartmentLove has an impressive presence in more than 30 countries around the world promoting more than 350,000 active homes, apartments and vacation properties on a daily basis.

As searching for housing in the digital age continues to increase – with a projected market increase to US$77.09 billion by 2033, up from $18.24 billion in 2023 – services like ApartmentLove’s will be vital more than ever.

To that end, the company recently made a groundbreaking announcement regarding its 100-per-cent-owned company, OwnerDirect.com, which will be integrating with Google to show vacation rental listings all around the world.

In a news release, the company said this means that short-term vacation rentals (STVRs) shown on OwnerDirect.com will be shown in Google search results all around the world to potential vacation renters.

“Having a beautifully styled and easy-to-use website along with a fulsome inventory of vacation rental listings is very important but the lifeblood of platforms like OwnerDirect.com is website traffic,” Trevor Davidson, CEO of ApartmentLove, said in a news release.

This also means that OwnerDirect’s catalogue of STVR properties is now shared with Google to be shown on the search platform.

Although listings shown on Google are free, ApartmentLove earns a fee that is paid by the traveler at the time of booking for every reservation that is made on OwnerDirect.com.

ApartmentLove has also had a wide range of other supplier contracts that will boost its inventory of STVR properties around the world.

To date, the company has secured roughly 3 million STVR properties across 100 countries over five different continents. ApartmentLove will now look to increase its listing inventory and expects to have more than 1 million of its STVR listings available on OwnerDirect.com – and visible on Google search – by the end of 2023.

Recent highlights

In early September, ApartmentLove integrated OwnerDirect.com with Hostfully and its listing distribution system for vacation rentals in the United States, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean.

“Integrating with the Hostfully system provides known, trusted, and proven reliable property managers of high-end vacation rentals the means to syndicate their entire listing inventory quickly and easily to OwnerDirect.com, our beautifully styled and easy-to-use vacation rental platform,” Cailean Cattani, head of sales and marketing at ApartmentLove, said in a statement.

The Hostfully Property Management Platform is a cloud-based software program that assists vacation rental businesses in managing and automating bookings across different platforms.

ApartmentLove also had its platform integrated with BookingPal, an STVR listing supplier in North America, which the company said will increase the number of STVR properties on OwnerDirect.com.

This integration is expected to significantly increase our vacation rental inventory and elevate the way travelers use and engage with our OwnerDirect.com platform,” Davidson said in a release. “This is the first of several vacation rental supplier engagements which, in aggregate, will provide us with access to about 3 million vacation rental listings in more than 100 countries around the world.

The company stated it estimates roughly 50,000 STVR listings will be added to OwnerDirect.com in the near future through the BookingPal API system.

The investment corner

Year-to-date, shares of ApartmentLove have nearly doubled, rising by 54.55 per cent to C$0.17 as of the time of this writing.

Putting it simply, investors are starting to pay attention to this growing market, and ApartmentLove is leading the way.

With the market projected for significant growth in the next decade, companies like ApartmentLove won’t be going anywhere, and investors won’t want to miss out on this unique, but critical, opportunity.
