Water Ways Technologies Inc. (WWT) has received an order for its date growing and cultivation project from a company in Vietnam.

The order, worth C$900,000, will allow the Vietnamese company to grow and cultivate Medjool dates.

Water Ways will plan the cultivation, deliver the young Medjool date plants, and design an irrigation and fertilization system for the company.

Ohad Haber, CEO and chair of Water Ways, explained what the project will look like for the company.

“For the first time, we are delivering a complete cultivation project,” he said. “Our ability to provide the know-how to grow Medjool dates will create a strong foothold for us in Vietnam’s agriculture market.”

According to the Israeli Export Institute, three out of every four Medjool dates consumed in the world last year were grown in Israel. Based in Israel, Water Ways Technologies is a perfect fit for this type of project.

In addition, Israel annually produces between 65 and 75 per cent of all Medjool dates exported globally, and dates have become a major growth driver for the Israeli agriculture sector.

Water Ways Technologies, through its subsidiaries, is a global provider of Israeli-based agriculture technology, providing water irrigation solutions to agricultural producers.

The company is focused on developing solutions with commercial applications in the micro and precision irrigation segments of the global agriculture technology market.

Its goal is to make the technology more widely available, especially in developing markets such as Africa and Latin America and developed markets such as China and Canada.

Water Ways Technologies irrigation projects include vineyards, cotton fields, apple and orange orchards, blueberries, medical cannabis, fresh produce cooling rooms, and more, in over 15 countries.

Water Ways Technologies Inc. (WWT) is up 21.21 per cent, trading at $0.20 per share as of 9:47 am ET.
