VitalHub (VHI) has completed the sale of the SHREWD Region Platform to the National Health Service (NHS) East of England.

Transforming Systems, the creator of the proprietary SHREWD platform, a real-time geographically-based emergency care system, was recently acquired by VitalHub.

The acquisition allows the company to provide further services to its growing network of over 275 clients across Canada, USA, UK, Australia, Qatar, and Latvia.

The NHS East of England region provides care for a population group of over 6 million people and includes six integrated care systems across the region.

Its neighbouring region, Hertfordshire and West Essex, has been successfully implemented the SHREWD platform across the region, including at 17 hospital sites.

Dan Matlow, CEO of VitalHub, commented,

“This regional sale continues to demonstrate how successful implementations lead toward expansion across neighbouring regions and sites.”

He added,

“Now more than ever, it has become essential for regions and systems to maintain a comprehensive real-time understanding of pressures and capacity within their emergency care departments.”

The SHREWD Region Platform provides a simple, single view of real-time pressure in urgent and emergency care across a large geographical area, displaying data on a heatmap that indicates high need areas.

The product also involves the use of an intelligent conveyancing solution that will offer support for the East of England Ambulance Service.

This solution will gather data from the region’s emergency departments to improve tactical decision-making when allocating resources to patient transport and care delivery.

“We are delighted that regions are seeing immense value in our solutions, and we are looking forward to continuing to provide vital services to ensure that these organizations continue to run smoothly and optimally,” said Mr. Matlow.

VitalHub is a Canada-based firm that develops technology solutions for health and human services providers in the mental health, long-term care, community health service, home health, social service, and acute care sectors.

VitalHub (VHI) is up 3.51 per cent and is trading at $2.95 per share as of 10:45 am ET.
