Victory Battery Metals (VR) has advanced exploration plans for its Georgia Lake lithium project in Ontario following a recent design change.

Specifically, VR is pursuing bids to fly a magnetometer survey over the project’s property to determine whether mica granite bodies can be identified within certain sediments.

Once the survey has been completed, a field crew will mobilize onto the property in early June to begin prospecting, rock sampling, reconnaissance mapping, and sampling.

VR’s Georgia Lake property hosts numerous lithium-bearing pegmatites and is within the Georgia Lake district, which boasts a record of economically viable lithium deposits.

Resource estimate outlined 15 million tonnes

Back in 2022, a mineral resource estimate outlined 10.60 million tonnes of indicated resources with a grade of 0.88 per cent lithium oxide and inferred resources of 4.22 million tonnes with 1.00 per cent lithium oxide.

Also, mapping done on a nearby processing facility outlined additional bodies of mica granite, which VR believes suggests potential unmapped mica granites and associated pegmatites could exist on the Georgia Lake project.

Mark Ireton, VR’s President and CEO, commented,

“The Georgia Lake lithium project is a strong lithium play in a proven lithium region, supported through a renewed focus from the Government of Ontario, with their continued development of infrastructure to grow the Thunder Bay District, which increases accessibility and will allow us to realize the full potential of any commercially viable deposits within the project.”

Victory Battery Metals (VR) is up 6.67 per cent, trading at $0.08 per share as of 2:05 p.m. EST.
