U.S. Copper (USCU) has suspended drilling at the Moonlight-Superior Copper Project in California due to the approaching Dixie Forest fire.

The Dixie Forest fire began on July 15, 2021, and has become the largest forest fire in California this season.

Once the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office issued an evacuation order, the company demobilized all staff and contractors, all of whom are safe and accounted for.

At this time, the Superior drill site has not sustained any damage.

To date, U.S. Copper has completed seven drill holes, which will provide considerable data toward the objectives of the drill program. 

The company is monitoring the situation closely and will provide timely updates on any material developments.
