Biosenta (ZRO) has reported recent success with its latest development–environmentally friendly biocidal particles.
These biocidal particles have been successfully tested against infectious bacteria growing on common surfaces. With viruses such as COVID, innovations such as this have been made all that more important.
“The biocidal efficacy of the particles will be tested against Coronavirus in the near future,” said Dr. Ashani, a postdoctoral fellow testing the biocidal efficacy of the particles.
These particles have been developed in collaboration with the University laboratory.
“We are thrilled about our collaboration with Biosenta and are excited about the new data that is emerging from our collaboration,” said Dr. Lewis.
Dr. Maen Husein’s laboratory, University of Calgary, was part of the collaboration and the particles were tested in Dr. Ian Lewis’s laboratory, also at U of C.
Early-stage results showed that the particles while in cement, provide effective biocidal attributes.
“It is critical to tune the morphology of the particles for optimum performance,” said Dr. Husein.
Even Am Gill added his thoughts on the development, “We are pleased to see the outcome of the research by the University of Calgary, which proves the science behind Biosenta that has been years in the making.”
Further research will be conducted this summer on multiple construction surfaces such as drywall, paint, plastic, glass carpet etc.
