The Alkaline Water Company’s (CSE:WTER) hemp-derived topical product line will be distributed through United Natural Foods Inc (UNFI).

UNFI is the largest publicly traded wholesaler distributor in the United States, with over 43,000 retail customers. The business distributes over 110,000 products at natural supermarkets, small retail stores, and convenience stores in Canada and the US.

UNFI’s customers will now be able to purchase Alkaline88 waters, A88 Infused flavours, eco-friendly aluminium bottles, and A88CBD topicals.

The Alkaline Water Company has a comprehensive portfolio of topical products, containing varying levels of full-spectrum hemp. These include a body lotion, hand and foot cream, infused lip balm, muscle salve, bath salts, and infused essential oil.

All of the company’s topical products are vegan, gluten-free, and cruelty-free, which allows them to fit into UNFI’s distribution portfolio.

The Alkaline Water Company’s CEO, Richard A Wright, called this development a major step in expanding the company’s brand.

“The introduction of our entire line of A88CBD topicals to over 40,000 potential new retailers nationwide is fantastic. This news is not only positive for our A88CBD brand, but also our overall company.

“UNFI is a major player in the natural and organic food industry. They serve many of the same customers we do, including Whole Foods, Kroger, Sprouts, Publix, and Shop-Rite. We hope many of our mutual customers will be early adopters of our A88CBD topicals,” he said.

Earlier this month, the company launched its direct-to-consumer e-commerce website, Alkaline88.com, further bolstering its retail avenues.

The Alkaline Water Company (WTER) is down 0.45 per cent and is trading at C$2.18 per share, as of 10:11am EDT.
