Ucore Rare Metals (UCU) gives an update on its RapidSX rare earth element separation technology platform and more.

RapidSX combines the time-proven chemistry of conventional solvent extraction with a new column-based platform, significantly reducing time to completion and plant footprint.

The work is taking place at the company’s RapidSX commercialization and demonstration facility in Kingston, Ontario.

Ucore is pleased to announce that it has received all feedstock required for the initial commissioning trials, including roughly two tonnes of a high-purity heavy REE feedstock.

The two initial commissioning trials will consist of processing a light REE feedstock followed by the HREE feedstock,” said Mike Schrider, P.E., Ucore’s VP and COO.

“The Demo Plant is designed to process tens of tonnes of HREE and LREE feedstock annually.

Both will be processed on the same 51-stage RapidSX Demo Plant.

“Over the next several months, Ucore will conduct its initial commissioning trials program. A program designed to demonstrate the significant advantages of utilizing its RapidSX™ technology platform for separating light and heavy rare earth elements into high-purity individual elements/compounds” added Schrider.

Ucore is focused on rare- and critical-metal resources, extraction, beneficiation, and separation technologies with the potential for production, growth, and scalability.

The company continues to aspire to become a leading advanced technology company, providing best-in-class metal separation products and services to the mining and mineral extraction industry.

Ucore Rare Metals (UCU) is up 1.47 per cent, trading at C$0.69 at 11:37 am EST.
