After search and recovery efforts concluded, it was confirmed that the individual had died as a result of the incident.

In Centerra’s 2019 financial report, released last week, President and CEO Scott had assured the public that the company was making an effort to improve safety

“In early January we held our first annual Centerra Gold Safety Week. The entire leadership team including myself travelled to all our sites for a one-day operations stand down to focus on safety at each site.”

Centerra Gold Inc (CG) was up 3.44 per cent, with shares currently trading C$10.16.
