Another session of broad gains helped power Canada’s main stock index to another solid close higher on Tuesday. Markets have regained some of their recent losses.

The Canadian dollar traded for 73.98 cents US compared to 73.39 cents US on Monday.

US crude futures traded 3.10 per cent higher at $86.22 a barrel, while the Brent contract gained 3.04 per cent to $91.56 a barrel.

The price of gold was up US24.04 to US$1,725.05.

In world markets, the Nikkei was up 776.42 points to 26,992.21, the Hang Seng remained at 17,079.51, the FTSE was up 177.70 points to 7,086.46, and the DAX was up 461.00 points to 12,670.48.
