Hemp grower, Sweet Earth Holdings (CSE:SE) has entered into a letter of intent with health product provider, Mota Ventures (CSE:MOTA).

Mota Ventures is a direct-to-consumer provider of CBD products in the United States and Europe.

Under the agreement, Mota will sell Sweet Earth’s CBD pet products through its e-commerce consumer brand, Nature’s Exclusive. Sweet Earth will be the exclusive dog treat provider for the brand, which is sold in the United States.

Sweet Earth’s dog treats are certified organic, fortified with Vitamin E, and contain CBD. According to Dogs Naturally, research suggests that CBD dog treats can help address arthritis and joint pain, anxiety, digestive issues, neurological disorders, and blood disorders.

Mota will sell Sweet Earth’s products, starting with its CBD dog treats, and a balm for the nose and paws. The first product chosen for the Nature Exclusive brand is Sweet Earth’s popular Beef and Cheddar Potato CBD Dog Treats.

Sweet Earth’s President, Amrik Virk, commented on the collaboration between the two companies.

“This is a great opportunity for Sweet Earth to team with Mota, which has grown 110 per cent year-on-year, and recently announced sales of C$5.1 million for the month of May,” he said.

The US market for pet treats reached approximately $9.06 billion in 2019, with CBD being the sector’s largest growth component. According to Today’s Veterinary Business, 11 per cent of dog owners have purchased dog supplements and treats containing CBD or hemp.

Sweet Earth (SE) is down 4.55 per cent and is trading at 21 cents per share at 12:50pm EDT.
