Sun Summit (SMN) is drilling on two new targets on the 43,000-hectare Buck Project in central British Columbia.

“This is a very exciting drill campaign at the Buck Project where we’ll be testing two new targets that have never before been drill tested,” stated Sun Summit’s President, Sharyn Alexander.

Most of the drilling at Buck Main is home to long, continuous zones of disseminated and breccia-hosted, bulk tonnage-style gold-silver-zinc.

The area also has year-round, road-accessible exploration.

“Drilling at these two new targets and continued development of additional high-priority exploration targets across the project area will provide steady news flow in the near term,” concluded Alexander.

Drill program

Drilling is underway at the first target, Eagle Eye. After the completion of around 800 m of drilling at Eagle Eye, the drill will mobilize further south to the IRK Zone.

At the site, around 1,200 m of drilling will be completed.

The Eagle Eye target is three km southwest of Buck Main and has a strong chargeability-high anomaly associated with outcropping quartz-sericite-pyrite altered volcanic and intrusive rocks.

The chargeability-high anomaly’s center also coincides with a broad magnetic-high anomaly interpreted to reflect a deep and concealed magnetic source, such as a porphyry.

The IRK target, located 11 km south of Buck Main, contains silver-zinc-lead-copper coincidental soil and rock geochemical anomalies.

Work is continuing to be done throughout the project area, including Silverthorne, Morice Mountain, and Dungate South.

Additional targets at Buck Main are being developed, with a completed drill program carried out this past fall.

Alexander spoke with Simon Druker about the news.
