Strathmore Plus Uranium (SUU) and the University of Wyoming’s Near-Surface Geophysical Center (UWNSG) will complete research at the Agate and Night Owl projects.

The research will integrate modern geophysical procedures and analysis – such as 2D and 3D imaging – and apply them to different settings at the projects.

The research study has been titled the Pilot Study of Integrated Geophysical Method Characterization of Deposition/Roll Front Uranium Deposits in the Shirley Basin, Wyoming. The study will evaluate strategies for Wyoming uranium development projects with private industry partners.

The two project sites can support this type of study due to the near-surface uranium occurrences, available historical drilling results and recently obtained geophysical survey data, as well as certain geologic settings.

A grant of US$199,787 has been provided for one year for a Ph.D. graduate research student, one Master’s graduate research student, and up to six graduate or undergraduate students and UWNSG staff for summer research field assistance.

Additional funding has been scheduled for renting geophysical equipment, travel, and expenses for conferences and meetings to present the research findings by the graduate candidates.

The grant was funded by the Wyoming legislature with the support of the governor’s office as an initiative to grow nuclear research capacity among the university’s community. Strathmore anticipates working with additional University personnel on other research opportunities at the project sites as it progresses through the many permit steps.

Strathmore Plus Uranium Corporation (SUU) is up 9.68 per cent, trading at $0.51 per share as of 3:14 p.m. EST.
