Sprout AI (SPRT) has been selected by JT Medical to provide cultivation technology for controlled substances.
Based in Pennsylvania, JT Medical is moving forward to obtain its license to cultivate, process, and distribute controlled plants for medical research and development.
JT Medical will use Sprout AI’s proprietary cultivation habitats to cultivate the various plants, which include psilocybin mushroom, cannabis, and peyote and their derivatives.
The habitats will be installed, set up, and managed by TheraCann International Benchmark Corporation, which has an existing agreement with JT Medical.
Scott Noerr, co-founder and CFO of JT Medical, commented on the partnership with TheraCann.
“We chose them due to the vast array of managed services they offer, but more importantly, the development they have provided internationally,” he said.
Sprout AI will deliver several units to JT Medical over the next 12 months, based on the receipt of the cultivation request from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Chris Bolton, CEO of Sprout AI, commented on the purchase order.
“Utilizing Sprout AI for this DEA medical research license Project further demonstrates Sprout AI’s highest level of plant crop flexibility, quality and repeatability,” he said.
