Solar Alliance (SOLR) has signed a contract with Knoxville Utilities Board for a 1 MW solar project.

Knoxville Utilities Board provides electricity, natural gas, water, wastewater and fiber broadband services to more than 473,000 customers in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The company will design, engineer and install the project – Knoxville’s first community solar site – by August 2022.

Solar Alliance and Knoxville Utilities Board also entered into an operations and maintenance agreement for the project. The initial term is for one year with up to four one-year renewals.

The project builds on Solar Alliance’s expanding utility customer project base, which includes initiatives with utilities LG&E/KU, EPB and AEC.
