Peter Nixon has been appointed as the Chair of Dundee Corporation (DC.A), replacing Jonathon Goodman.

As a result, Jonathon will transition to the role of President and CEO, effective immediately.

Peter has served as a member of Dundee’s board since August 2018, and as Lead Director of the company since June 2019.

With more than three decades spent in the investment industry, specialising in the natural resource sector, he previously founded the investment firm Goepel Shields & Partners and acted as President of the firm’s US-based subsidiary.

Peter also acted as Senior Vice President of Dundee Securities from June 1998 until December 2000, where he was tasked with expanding the company’s activities in the US.

His appointment comes from the board’s belief that an independent chair would be the best interest of the company’s shareholders, pursuant to its current governance practices.

Jonathon noted that Peter’s appointment completes an initiative that was launched in 2018, designed to refresh the company’s board and improve its overall governance structure.

“Each of the committees of the board are fully independent and we have improved diversity with a third of the board now women.

“I look forward to working with Peter and the board as we continually look to enhance our governance practices and execute our strategy to create long-term value for all stakeholders,” he added.

Dundee Corporation also announced the results of its Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders, which was held via live audio webcast on Thursday, October 15.

Included among a number of resolutions was the appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as the company’s auditor.

Dundee Corporation (DC.A) is currently down 2.21 per cent to C$1.33 per share at 2:08pm EDT.
