Patriot One (PAT) will protect entrances to schools in New Jersey’s Lakewood School District.

The company will supply its SmartGateway entry screening solution to ensure weapons are not brought into any premises.

SmartGateway uses AI-based sensors to scan for hidden guns, knives and other weapons without requiring personal items to be removed.

According to the Institute of Education Sciences, as many as 3 per cent of U.S. high school students said that they carried a weapon onto school property.

“After sending security experts to trade shows to evaluate options and performing an aggressive analysis of various technology solutions, and rigorous onsite testing, we were impressed with the versatility and consistency of Patriot One’s solution,” stated Robert DeSimone, Director of Security at the Lakewood Board of Education.

“Students were already accustomed to using walk-through metal detectors – our technology will let them enter the school much faster while providing advanced security detection,” added Peter Evans, CEO of Patriot One. “This lets students just be students again.”

Patriot One (PAT) is up by 3.51 per cent, trading at $0.59 per share as of 9:58 am ET.
