NorZinc (NZC) has received a water license for its Prairie Creek Project in the Northwest Territories.

The license pertains to expanding the mine’s capacity to 2,400 tonnes per day. The approval represents recognition from the Government of the Northwest Territories of the project’s value to stakeholders and the region at large.

Approval of the water license, combined with the land use permit received in August 2022, completes the permitting process for mining operations at Prairie Creek.

“Based on the Preliminary Economic Assessment completed in October 2021, and the envisioned mining rate of 2,400 tpd,” stated Rohan Hazelton, NorZinc’s President and CEO, “the project results in an NPV8% of US$299 million NPV with average EBITDA of US$123 million per annum, and will deliver over US$8 billion in economic activity to the region over its 20-year mine life.”

The company continues to work with regulators on the final approval of the management plans for phase-1 construction of an all-season road. It expects to receive these approvals by next month.

NorZinc is a mine development company focused on its high-grade zinc-silver-lead Prairie Creek Project in the Northwest Territories.

NorZinc (NZC) is down by 16.67 per cent, trading at $0.025 per share as of 2:33 pm EST.
