Northern Graphite Corporation (NGC)  has engaged ProGraphite GmbH to test and optimize Northern’s graphite concentrates.

ProGraphite is one of the world’s leading graphite R&D Laboratories with several decades of professional expertise and experience. ProGraphite will carry out a number of tests including purification and expandability, XRD analysis to determine the degree of crystallinity and thermal gravimetric analysis to assist Northern Graphite in maximizing the revenue potential of its concentrates.

Gregory Bowes, CEO, commented,

“Extensive characterization work has already confirmed that there are no limits to the applications for which Bissett Creek concentrates will be suitable due to their coarse flake, highly crystalline and pristine nature.”

He added, “Continual research, development and testing is necessary to ensure the Company is current with advances in graphite processing technology and constantly changing market requirements, and to identify opportunities where our products will have a distinct competitive advantage.”

Graphite is a critical component that enables the green economy. It is the anode material in a lithium-ion battery and there are no substitutes.

The EV and grid storage markets depend on it as do fuel cells and vanadium redox batteries. Graphite and graphene make composite materials stronger and lighter, reducing their cost and increasing the energy efficiency of everything from EVs to wind turbines.

Northern Graphite is a mineral development and technology company focused on developing its Bissett Creek graphite deposit and upgrading mine concentrates into high-value components used in lithium-ion batteries, electric vehicles, fuel cells, graphene and other advanced technologies.

Bissett Creek is an advanced stage project with a full feasibility study and its major mining permit which puts Northern Graphite in a position to make a construction decision, subject to financing.

The project is located in Canada between North Bay and Ottawa providing ready access to labour, supplies, equipment, natural gas and markets.

Northern Graphite (NGC) is unchanged, trading at C$0.48 per share at 10:15 am EST.
