Nextleaf Solutions (OILS) has announced that its partner State B Cannabis Beverage Co is gearing up to launch its beverage line in Canada.

The products have been developed with Nextleaf’s proprietary Rapid Emulsion Technology by OILS.

“Nextleaf is delighted to work with a female-led business such as State B and we are thrilled to combine Kelly’s expertise developing beverages with our Rapid Emulsion Technology,” Paul Pedersen, CEO of Nextleaf, said in a release.

“We are excited for the launch of State B branded products and the brand’s appearance on Dragons’ Den, which we think is a reflection of cannabis 2.0 becoming mainstream adult-use products.”

Additionally, the beverage line will launch through a manufacturing partnership with BevCanna Enterprises Inc. (BEV) and will include three different kinds of beverages, including Sparkle, Resolve and Zing.

The “first of its kind” beverages are designed as mood modulating and consciousness shifting drinks and were validated by Nextleaf Labs’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Nextleaf Labs Ltd., through a human trial program.

State B is a cannabis beverage company entirely owned by women. The beverage line has also earned the team the opportunity to appear on CBC’s Dragon Den, which will also be the first cannabis product featured on the program. The episode is expected to air sometime this fall.

“It is an exciting time, and we couldn’t be happier to launch State B beverages with Nextleaf’s proprietary Rapid Emulsion Technology,” State B founder and CEO Kelly Woods said in a press release.

The Dragons’ Den opportunity helped validate an initial theory of mine that there was an opportunity to provide a purposeful product to an underdeveloped area in cannabis beverages around female consumption.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Nextleaf Solutions ones one of the largest portfolios of US patents for the extraction, distillation and delivery of cannabinoids. The company owns 15 U.S. patents and has been issued over 80 patents around the world.

Nextleaf is also developing delivery technology through its Health Cannabis Research License with sensory evaluation of cannabis through human testing.

Shares of Nextleaf Solutions are down 6.52 per cent to C$0.22 as of 11:58 a.m. EDT.
