One of BioMark Diagnostic’s scientific advisors – Dr John Yoo – will take up a new position on May 1 as Dean of Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, with CEO and President Rashid Ahmed farewelling a respected colleague.

“(We) would like to take this opportunity to wish Dr. Yoo the very best in his new role,” he said.

“His vision, passion to inspire and guide individuals and institutions is exemplary (and) BioMark is fortunate to have been supported with his counsel in establishing a rigorous emphasis to focus on end point driven clinical research.”

Dr Yoo currently serves the university in a number of roles, including Interim Chair/Chief of the Department of Paediatrics, Fellowship Director for the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, and as a Professor of Otolaryngology and Oncology.

He has previously served as Chair/Chief of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery for 10 years and has served as Co-Chair of the London Health Sciences Centre’s Facial Nerve Clinic.

He is also the Co-chair of Cancer Care Ontario Head and Neck Cancer Disease Site, is the President-elect of the Canadian Association of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and is an executive board member with the Canadian Association of Otolaryngology and the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery,

He was also the longest-serving Chair of the Canadian Chairs of Otolaryngology.
