New Leaf Ventures (NLV) has contracted Chef Allan Abramovitz to provide executive management as the company advances its line of edibles.

Chef Allan has over 30 years of professional experience as a manager and consultant to clients such as Princess Cruise Lines, Hilton, and Wyndham Hotels.

He then brought his extensive culinary experience to the legal cannabis market through the creation of Seattle’s “Pot Bites,” his first cannabis company, which supplied medical cannabis to the greater Seattle area.

Today, he works nationally to educate retailers, wholesalers, and manufacturers about USDA and other regulations and policies affecting the industry.

Washington-based Allan Consulting Group, under Chef Allan’s leadership, will provide New Leaf with executive management oversight of new edible products.

Chef Allan will oversee the commercial outfitting of the kitchen facilities, staffing, training, and procedural development oversight including product shelf life and stability research, flavour profile and recipe creation for gummies, mints, and hard candy processes.

“The New Leaf concept intrigued me right from the start,” said Chef Allan. “This is the sixth venture I have successfully contributed to, and I look forward to utilizing my experience to help New Leaf’s licensed brands gain market share through the very straightforward principle of making better products that consumers love.”

Michael Stier, CEO of New Leaf Ventures, expressed his excitement about the new contract with Chef Allan.

“Allan is another great addition that the New Leaf USA executive team has been able to gain access to, principally because of the team’s extensive exposure to an increasingly nationwide cannabis industry,” said Mr. Stier. “By attracting the interest and participation of proven industry leaders, New Leaf continues to build underlying sustainable value for the business and for our shareholders.”

New Leaf Ventures is a licensed producer and processor of ultra-premium cannabis.

Shares in New Leaf Ventures Inc. (NLV) are up 2.08 per cent, trading at $0.245 per share as of 11:35 am ET.
