NEO Battery Materials (NBM) has provided an update on recent activities.

These include news that the company will retain the capability to produce its own coin full cells within the NBM Korea R&D Scale-Up Centre. By late September 2022, the company will be able to independently produce coin full cells without the need for external manufacturing facilities.

NEO is a Vancouver-based company focused on producing lithium-ion battery materials for electric vehicles.

NEO (NBM) is up 2.44 per cent, trading at $0.21 per share as of 9:35 am ET.

The company is undertaking NBMSiDE sample evaluation and product optimization with global battery cell manufacturers. The silicon anode products are being finetuned with specifications requested from each cell manufacturer.

The team is also conducting trials to manufacture carbon nanotube-composite NBMSiDE silicon anodes based on its pending patent. NEO signed a collaboration agreement with Applied Carbon Nanotechnology to advance carbon nanotube technologies on silicon particles to improve anode performance and durability back in June 2022.

NBM Korea has entered into a collaborative agreement with the Yonsei University-Industry Foundation. NBM Korea will have greater access to the University’s facilities and equipment to analyze and optimize the patented NBMSiDE silicon anode materials.
