Mosaic Minerals (MOC) has acquired 290 claims covering 153.7 sq. km. in the James Bay region.

This addition forms the Mirabelli SM project to its portfolio of lithium-based mining projects in the area.

Mosaic’s President and CEO, Jonathan Hamel, explained that with Pluton SM and Lithium SM, the Mirabelli SM project, by its potential and its location, will be part of the company’s targeted projects for exploration work in 2023.

“We are confident of finding new indications as to the presence of lithium in this sector of James Bay. Mirabelli SM is located in a favourable environment that already contains interesting indicators for the presence of lithium in the numerous pegmatites already listed by the MERN.”

Staked for its lithium potential, the company noted that nothing indicates for the moment the presence of spodumene on these claims, but different geological formations may indicate its presence.

A drilling program is also underway on the Pike West nickel shows, which consists of four holes totalling 1,200 metres as the continuity at depth of hole GA-21-07 which revealed a grade of 0.35 per cent nickel over a thickness of 121.5 metres.

Mosaic is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on the exploration of future strategic nickel and lithium deposits in Québec.
