Metal Energy (MERG) has announced assay results from its Manibridge Project in Manitoba.

The results stem from 14 of 16 drill holes from phase-two exploration between June and July 2022.

Multiple high-grade nickel-sulphide zones over 150 m along strike and within 600 m from the past-producing Manibridge Mine indicate strong potential to add additional tonnage.

Highlights include 0.84 per cent NiEq. over 20 m starting at 268.5 m (MNB014); 0.63 per cent NiEq. over 25 m starting at 287.5 m (MNB021); and 0.63 per cent NiEq. over 19.5 m starting at 253.5 m (MNB020).

MNB021 intersected thick accumulations of composite mineralization defined over 144 m, with 45 per cent of that interval being mineralized.

Twelve drill holes intersected high-grade nickel-sulphide mineralization, with nine of those holes intersecting multiple high-grade nickel zones.

Assay results confirm overall nickel-sulphide-rich lithostratigraphy between 7.5 m (MNB017) and 66 m composite thickness (MNB021), with an average exceeding 30 m.

Mineralization is shallow, with true vertical depth to mineralization ranging from 100 m to 350 m beneath the surface.

The remaining 4,669 m of the 10,000-m phase two program are ongoing. The company is targeting mineralization near drill hole MNB004 (0.92 per cent NiEq over 32.95 m) and towards the historic Manibridge high-grade nickel and copper mine.

The Manibridge mineralized trend boasts over 1.2 km in strike length and 800 m in depth while remaining open in all directions.

“The assay results demonstrate that Manibridge is hosted within a large nickel system, as we intersect new zones of mineralization with wide step-out drilling just north of the mine. We now interpret the area as a much larger, lower-grade mineralized envelope with pockets and shoots of structurally-controlled higher-grade mineralization. Together, these new wide composite intersections and our geological model support this view,” stated James Sykes, CEO of Metal Energy.
