Mawson Gold’s (TSX:MAW) CEO, Ivan Fairhall, spoke to our Sonia Madigan at PDAC 2022 about the company’s pair of promising projects in Finland and Sweden.

Its flagship Rajapalot Gold-Cobalt Project, based in Finland, features an August 2021 Inferred Resource of 1.04 Moz grading 3 g/t AuEq, which represents the company’s greatest opportunity moving forward as it derisks, builds and expands the resource.

Its Skellefteå North Gold Project, based in Sweden, consists of 2,500 ha of contiguous claims located in the highly prospective Skellefte Mining District. The project area contains outcropping gold mineralization across a 3 km x 6 km land package with grab samples grading up to 15.1 g/t gold. A recent highlight from the maiden drilling program includes 0.4 m grading 132 g/t gold.

According to Fairhall, the company’s major challenge is funding, which it plans to address by spreading the word about its projects at the convention as well as through further geological surveys and studies.

Mawson is optimistic as it continues its exploration efforts, given gold’s strong recent performance and the inflationary tailwinds affording the metals sector its time in the sun.
