Lumine Group, a division of Constellation Software (CSU) subsidiary Volaris Group, has acquired business software provider Ubersmith.

Founded in 1999 in New York City, Ubersmith, originally named CBMS, was developed as an in-house billing solution for enterprise cloud and hosting provider, Voxel. Upon recognizing the value of the software, Voxel formed a separate business unit to commercialize it for external sales.

After a merger with TicketSmith in 2001, Voxel rebranded CBMS to Ubersmith. Then, after 10 years of customer growth, Voxel and Ubersmith were acquired by Internap Holding.

Now operating as an autonomous business, Ubersmith’s software solution delivers mission-critical capabilities for billing, infrastructure and device management, as well as trouble and relationship management.

Kurt Daniel, CEO of Ubersmith, commented,

“In the Lumine Group global ecosystem, Ubersmith’s open and scalable billing, infrastructure and customer management platform is positioned for success. We have found a perpetual home for our more than 100 active customers globally and a business acceleration opportunity to expand our position in the cloud, hosting and data communications markets.”

Tony Garcia, Group Leader of Monetization at Lumine, added,

“We are excited to welcome this new billing and customer management dimension to Lumine, reinforcing our vision and customer strategy that immense cloud-based communications infrastructure services will require dedicated real-time specialist usage and infrastructure device management.”
