Lithium Americas (LAC) has received a favourable ruling regarding its Thacker Pass Project in Nevada.

On February 6, 2023, the U.S. District Court, District of Nevada, declined the appeal filed against the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for the issuance of the Thacker Pass Record of Decision.

Regarding the appeal, the court found no evidence that the project would harm local wildlife, groundwater aquifers, air quality or culturally significant areas.

The decision confirms the thoroughness of the project’s permitting process and removes all impediments to commencing construction.

The news follows Lithium Americas’ partnership with General Motors to develop Thacker Pass, which is the largest known source of lithium in the U.S.

“We are pleased that the Federal Court has recognized the BLM’s decision to issue the federal permit, reflecting our considerable efforts to ensure Thacker Pass is developed responsibly and for the benefit of all stakeholders,” stated Jonathan Evans, Lithium Americas’ President and CEO.

Lithium Americas is focused on advancing lithium projects to production in Argentina and the U.S.

Lithium Americas (LAC) is up by 8.84 per cent, trading at $34.35 per share as of 10:28 am EST.
