Kontrol (KNR) will deliver an energy savings and efficiency upgrade to a social housing building.

The building is owned by a leading property management firm in Ontario with an established national footprint.

The company will replace the building’s HVAC systems to reduce emissions and energy consumption. It will also provide ongoing real-time monitoring and optimization.

The upgrade is designed to provide energy savings in the range of 20 per cent per year.

Approximately 50 per cent of the upgrade is funded through government sources.

The Province of Ontario and the Federal Government have committed to spend C$4 billion through the province’s housing programs from 2019-2028.

“The social housing market is an area of strategic focus for Kontrol, with many ageing buildings requiring energy efficiency upgrades,” stated Paul Ghezzi, Kontrol’s CEO. “In addition to the need for energy savings and energy security, there is also a growing demand for emission reductions.”

Kontrol Technologies provides solutions and services to improve energy management, monitor continuous emissions and accelerate the sustainability of any building.

Kontrol (KNR) is down by 0.88 per cent, trading at $1.12 per share at 2:00 pm EST.
