Koios Beverage’s (KBEV) Fit Soda product will now be carried in over 100 HEB supermarkets in Texas.

Fit Soda is a beverage product which contains no sugar or calories, and is an alternative to popular soft drinks. The product line comes in four unique flavours; Black Cherry Cola, Sparkling Citrus, Orange Cream, and Root Beer Vanilla Float.

Koios first launched the product in the United States in 2019, where it has since enjoyed an ongoing positive reception. The company has sold approximately 700,000 units of Fit Soda so far in 2020, with more expected to follow before the year is out.

Based in San Antonio, Texas, HEB Grocery Company is a supermarket chain with over 300 stores across Texas and north-eastern Mexico. HEB has agreed to carry Fit Soda in approximately one third of its stores on the northern side of the US-Mexico border.

This placement will be the Fit Soda product’s first availability in a retail grocer’s US brick-and-mortar locations. As of October 26, more than 100 HEB stores in Texas have received shipments of four-can Fit Soda packs, in Sparkling Citrus and Orange Cream flavours.

Koios Beverage’s CEO, Chris Miller, commented on the significance of Fit Soda’s placement of HEB’s supermarket shelves.

“We are extremely proud of the performance of Fit Soda to date, including the validation that the product has gotten through major sales channels such as Walmart and GNC stores.

“Getting Fit Soda carried in HEB stores is a major milestone for us, being the inaugural ‘brick-and-mortar’ placement of the product in a major grocery chain.

“We look forward to further penetrating the beverage market in Texas in working with one of its largest regional grocers as a retail partner for Fit Soda,” he said.

Koios Beverage (KBEV) is up 11.11 per cent and is trading for five cents per share, as of 1:40pm EST.
