Kinross Gold (K) has provided updates on its Great Bear project in Red Lake, Ontario.

It has also provided updates on the Manh Choh project in Alaska and the Curlew Basin project in Washington State.

Great Bear Project

Kinross is on schedule to declare an initial mineral resource as part of its year-end results.

It has drilled approximately 83,000 m and is on track to complete approximately 200,000 m of exploration and infill drilling in 2022 on the LP Fault zone.

The latest results confirm gold mineralization and support the LP Fault zone’s long-life as an open-pit mine.

Recent results show high grade mineralization at depths greater than 500 m with the the potential for a sizeable underground mine.  Kinross is considering an advanced exploration program that would allow for exploration of deeper areas of the LP Fault, the Hinge and Limb gold zones, and bulk sampling slated to start as early as 2024.

The drilling program is nearing completion and 400 of the planned 430 holes have been drilled.

The 35,000-metre grade control drilling program is nearing completion with 400 of 430 RC holes having been drilled.

Kinross is on schedule to commence a Great Bear pre-feasibility study in 2023.

Manh Choh Project

Manh Choh is nearing completion and results are expected ahead of Q2 2022 results.

Kinross plans to truck Manh Choh ore to Fort Knox for batch processing.  Manh Choh ore is expected to be 10 times the current average mill grade at Fort Knox. The company expects Manh Choh’s high grade ore will lower Fort Knox’s average life of mine all-in sustaining costs and increase cash flow.

Permitting is progressing well since Kinross submitted major applications in December 2021.

Curlew Basin Project

Curlew Basin’s underground drilling program continues to produce positive results.  Kinross is targeting to declare a total mineral inventory of 1M oz. gold by year-end.

The project is situated in an area with rich mineral endowment, including approximately 12M oz. gold produced within 200KM of the Kettle River mill. The historic K2/Curlew Mine produced approximately 500,000 oz. gold at 7.5 g/t from 1997 to 2007.

Underground drilling commenced in Q3 2021 with the exploration program exceeding expectations, including higher-than-anticipated grades and 37 new vein discoveries.
