K92 Mining (KNT) is reporting a vehicular accident outside of its mining lease area resulting in two deaths.

The offsite accident occurred on May 2 on a country road. K92’s mining emergency services responded to the incident and mining operations were not affected.

The company has contacted the appropriate authorities and an investigation is underway.

Employees, contractors and the families of the deceased will be provided with support and counselling during this tragic time.

“On behalf of K92 Mining, to the family, friends and co-workers of our two colleagues we offer our sincerest condolences and heartfelt prayers during this very difficult time,” stated John Lewins, K92 Mining’s CEO.

K92 Mining is engaged in the production of gold, copper and silver at the Kainantu Gold Mine in the Eastern Highlands province of Papua New Guinea, as well as exploration and development in the immediate vicinity of the mine.

K92 Mining (KNT) last traded at $6.95 per share.
