ION (ION) has made an exceptional lithium brine discovery at its Urgakh Naran Project in Mongolia.

The company collected a brine sample from a shallow pool that assayed 918 mg/L lithium, which is the highest-grade lithium brine in Mongolia’s history.

The result is in line with neighboring operations to the south in China.

ION is planning a series of drill holes to test brine potential at depth upon completion of the current geophysical and shallow auger hole program.

“These exceptional early results are extremely exciting for all stakeholders,” stated Ali Haji, CEO of ION Energy. “They reinforce the company view that high-quality lithium brines could be discovered at the Urgakh Naran Lithium Project. We anticipate many more positive updates to the market in the coming months as exploration is ramped up over summer.”
