IGEN Networks (IGN) will provide its Medallion GPS solution to New York State counties.

All political subdivisions and districts in the state can purchase the commercial fleet service under the contract.

IGEN’s Medallion GPS includes its patented Digital Telematics Signature, which offers enhanced accuracy when measuring and scoring driver behavior in light commercial fleet vehicles. Data includes driver score points, speed traveled over a distance, location history, miles until the next maintenance checkup and customizable alerts.

The company expects its first deployments in New York to become a benchmark for other counties across the U.S. IGEN is approved for bidding in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Tennessee and California, which operate a total of between 120,000 to 180,000 light commercial vehicles.

“Fleet owners today must provide driver-scores for their drivers to qualify for commercial fleet insurance,” said Neil G. Chan, IGEN’s CEO. “A large part of county vehicles are self-insured which offers an excellent fit for Medallion GPS capabilities.”

IGEN Networks offers IoT cloud-based services including stolen vehicle protection and real-time updates on asset health and driver behavior.

IGEN Networks (IGN) is unchanged trading at $0.005 per share as of 12:39 pm EST.
