IAMGOLD Corporation (IMG) has shared assay results from its 2022 drilling program on the Karita Gold Project in northeastern Guinea.

High to average grades of gold were intercepted throughout 11 holes that have been highlighted by the company.

“The results reported today from our ongoing delineation drilling program are highly encouraging and continue to build on our exploration successes in the region,” Craig MacDougall, Executive Vice President of Growth for IAMGOLD, said.

According to MacDougall, several wide zones of mineralization were intercepted, some of which include considerable thickness extending nearly two kilometres along strike.

The assay results reported a total of 42 drill holes, totalling 10,230.5 metres of the 22,000 to 24,000 metres of drilling to be completed. Approximately 18,225 metres in 70 drill holes have been completed, with additional assays pending.

The company stated the program was designed to delineate the mineralized zones to support a future initial mineral resource estimate planned for next year.

Roughly 4,000 to 6,000 metres of additional drilling is planned in the second half of the year as part of the 2022 delineation drilling program.

IAMGOLD Corporation (IMG) is down 5.24 per cent and is trading at $1.81 per share as of 12:16 a.m. ET.
