Hudson Resources (HUD) has completed test work on material from the White Mountain mine in Greenland.

The work was conducted in Norway and confirmed that anorthosite rock from White Mountain contains high levels of aluminum and calcium when leached for a short time.

Hudson plans on using this leaching process to produce a waste-free “Green Alumina” product for the aluminum industry.

Jim Cambon, president of Hudson Resources, commented on the test work.

“This represents a key step in the production of a waste-free “Green Alumina” product and offers a direct replacement to bauxite, which creates almost four tonnes of waste for every tonne of aluminum produced,” he remarked.

“The time is right for the production of a truly green aluminum in which anorthosite is a key solution.”

The test work was conducted by the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) in Norway as part of its AlSiCal project and was funded by the European Union.

The goal of the AlSiCal project is to secure a sustainable process to produce alumina, silica, and precipitated calcium carbonate, without the by-product of bauxite residue and carbon emissions during their production.

Hudson Resources is a Canadian company that develops and mines mineral resources in Greenland.

Its projects include the Nukittooq niobium tantalum project and the Sarfartoq rare earth element project, in addition to White Mountain.

Hudson Resources Inc. (HUD) is steady, trading at $0.09 per share as of 10:32 am ET.
