Global Energy Metals (GEMC) has completed over 800 metres of drilling at the Lovelock cobalt-nickel-copper project to date.

Lovelock is located in the prolific iron oxide copper-gold belt of the Stillwater Range in Nevada. Global Energy has begun Phase 1 drilling at the property with seven RC drill holes completed so far.

Drilling intersected possible mineralization, alteration, and primary structures. These structures were targeted after the company re-interpreted historical geological and geophysical data from the property.

A number of drilled sections have visual characteristics similar to rock observed on the waste dump of the Lovelock Mine that, when analyzed with a portable X-ray fluorescence device, showed elevated cobalt, nickel, and copper values.

The company believes that Lovelock displays potential for near-surface cobalt, nickel, and copper mineralization and could become a significant discovery opportunity in the highly prospective Stillwater region.

Timothy Strong, Global Energy’s project development manager overseeing the drilling at Lovelock, commented on the program thus far.

“We are very pleased with the progress made from Phase I drilling which primarily targeted the untested, near surface IOCG system, as well as additional targets outside the historical mining zone,” said Mr. Strong. “These chargeability anomaly targets were established by our team as highly prospective through re-interpretation of historic geological and geophysical data.”

Sampling of the Phase 1 program is underway, with initial results expected in the coming weeks as drill cuttings are being logged.

Samples from the holes drilled will or have been delivered to American Assay in Sparks, Nevada where the laboratory will conduct geochemical analysis of the samples.

Global Energy Metals offers investors exposure to the growing rechargeable battery and electric vehicle market. Its projects are based in Canada, Australia, Norway, and the United States.

Shares in Global Energy Metals Corp. (GEMC) opened trading at $0.225 per share.
