Marc Roy, CEO of Focus Graphite (TSXV:FMS), spoke with The Market Herald’s Brieanna McCutcheon at PDAC 2022 about the need to depend less on foreign countries for EV battery minerals.

As the world moves toward a greener economy, with the electrification of vehicles leading the way, the demand for materials critical to green energy storage and consumption is greater than the available supply.

Focus Graphite is developing two of the most promising high-purity flake graphite projects in North America, both located in Quebec.

The Lac Tétépisca Project is the second major graphite property to be advanced into development by Focus, in addition to the Lac Knife project.

A recent MRE at Lac Tétépisca Project announced an MRE of 59.6 million tons of high-grade graphite.

Focus’ flagship Lac Knife Project is a 100 per cent owned, high-grade crystalline flake graphite deposit located in northeastern Québec.

Marc sees financing in turbulent markets to be a challenge. The company needs $150-200M to progress to next stage, along with funding an updated feasibility study at Lac Knife property.

Have tested material for ev compatibiity at Lac Knife, great results; such testing on its way for Tetepisca.

Marc sees an uptick in the domestic graphite market, as demand for EV materials grows and tensions within foreign countries grows.

Focus Graphite Inc is an exploration stage company. The company is engaged in the acquisition, exploration, and development of mineral properties in Canada. Its projects include Lac Knife; Lac Tetepisca graphite and Lac Guinecourt graphite properties.
