Fjordland Exploration (FEX) drill program on the South Voisey’s Bay nickel project located in Labrador is finished for the rest of the year.

Fjordland Exploration is a mineral exploration company focused on the discovery of large-scale economic metal deposits in Canada.

The program operated out of the community of Hopedale, Labrador.

Originally the plan was to complete up to 2,500 m of diamond core drilling by the fall; however, due to issues that came up, only 500 m were completed.

James Tuer, Fjordland’s CEO, added, “This year’s program was the first significant exploration program since the 2017 and 2018 field seasons. Several samples and field observations have been collected to help us surmise the ultimate source of the nickeliferous rocks found in previous surface samples and drill core.”

“A number of these targets remain untested due to the poor performance of the drill program. To preserve a budget for next season, this year’s drill program was cut short,” added Tuer.

Drill hole 22-001 targeted the Worm gabbro and reached a target depth of 420 m.

Drill hole 22-002 also targeted a strongly modelled conductor plate at 300 m; however, the hole was terminated at 60 m.

Once assays have been received and the partners have reviewed the program, a plan for future work will be announced.

Fjordland, as an operator, has an agreement to acquire 100 per cent of the Renzy nickel project located near Maniwaki, Québec.

Fjordland Exploration (FEX) is down 7.14 per cent, trading at C$0.07.
