Eguana Technologies (EGT) has completed all the necessary certifications for its residential battery energy storage systems (BESSs) to the updated Australian and New Zealand grid standards.

This includes the company’s 5KW Evolve LFP and NMC residential systems.

The company said the certifications also meet all Australian grid interconnection requirements and now fall under the Clean Energy Council’s (CEC) approved list of batteries.

“Customer preferences in the Australian market continue to require BESSs with expandable storage capacity options to serve both VPP and consumer backup markets,” Eguana Justin Holland said in a statement.

Eguana Technologies has also made its first shipment of Australian power electronics for the Evolve LFP AUS, a cobalt-free lithium iron phosphate BESS, from its manufacturing partner facility in California.

The power electronics are being assembled into final units and tested before consumer shipments at the Eguana facility in Adelaide, South Australia.

The company said shipments of the updated Evolve BESSs’ have already begun, while initial installations are taking place throughout March.

Headquartered out of Calgary, Alberta, Eguana Technologies designs and manufactures high-performance residential and commercial energy storage systems.

Shares of Eguana Technologies (EGT) are down 2.86 per cent to C$0.68 as of 10:46 a.m. EDT on Friday.
