Draganfly (DFLY) has installed eight more Vital Sign screening and Social Distancing Awareness units at Alabama State University.

The company first announced that ASU would deploy its technology to detect COVID-19 symptoms on campus in early September. The university purchased and implemented Draganfly’s Vital Intelligence technologies, in order to protect students and staff as it reopened.

These screening solutions consisted of the company’s Smart Thermal Temperature Assessment Stations, Vital Signs Assessment Stations, and Social Distancing Awareness Stations.

In seconds, the technologies can provide students and staff with contactless temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate readings. Such data can be extremely helpful when detecting possible symptoms of COVID-19.

Draganfly’s initial deployment consisted of five Smart Thermal and Vital Sign units, and five Social Distancing units, spread out across campus. Since that installation, ASU has reported significant increases in compliance to social distancing protocols on campus.

Draganfly’s CEO, Cameron Chell, commented on how ASU is making use of and benefitting from the technologies installed on campus.

“Alabama State University is a true testament to how leadership within the University and their student body can work together in maintaining a new normal that keeps everyone safe, their learning establishment open, and peace of mind within the community.

“ASU has shown consistent improvement in social distancing day over day.

“This is significant, because it shows that students, faculty, and staff are becoming more aware of maintaining the 6 feet distancing rule in addition to the other protocols that have been put in place,” he said.

Draganfly (DFLY) is up 4.84 per cent and is trading at C$0.65 per share at 9:58am EDT.
