District Copper Corp. (DCOP) announces plans for a fall field program on its Copper Keg project, located in the Kamloops mining district.

The program will consist of an induced polarization survey over the main Cu-porphyry target area on the property.

The survey will include approximately 23 line kilometres. It is designed to provide coverage to depths in the order of 600-800 metres, which historic data has indicated to be the primary exploration target.

Quantec Geoscience Ltd in Toronto has been contracted to carry out the survey using its titan 130 DCIP system.

President and CEO, Jevin Werbes, comments,

“We are pleased to finally be getting work underway at the Copper Keg project.”

“Having used Quantec in the past and being very familiar with the top-quality work they perform, we are very confident this will take us to the next steps of exploration and will outline some compelling drill targets,” he said.

District Copper also reports that a one-week mapping program was completed on the property during the summer.

The objective is to develop baseline whole-rock geochemistry of the lithologies present and to figure out if any significant trends in alteration or geochemistry exist on the property.

Within the Nicola Group volcanic area, five distinct units were identified during the mapping program. It is in line with earlier regional mapping by government geologists.

Ten grab samples were collected for whole rock analysis at ALS in North Vancouver using its ICP-AES whole-rock package.

The samples were analyzed b ALS’s 48 element four acid ICP-MS package. Although the samples were not selected as potentially mineralized states, the copper values ranged from 4.9 to 124.5 parts per million and zinc values from 8.0 to 235 parts per million.

District Copper Corp. (DCOP) is up 0.02 per cent and is trading at $0.13 per share at 1:22 p.m. ET.
