Datametrex AI (DM) has completed roughly 62,000 COVID-19 tests for the film and production industry over the course of the second quarter.

The company also sold over 50,000 1 Copy PCR test kits during Q2. The test kits can reduce the risk of asymptomatic and latent infection of COVID-19 by a single virus level limit of detection, and has a short measurement time of under two hours.

“The company is pleased with the testing and sales volume in the COVID-19 business. With the new highly contagious Delta variant spreading around the world, management feels that continued testing will be essential for the immediate future as part of the answer to keep people secure and healthy,” Marshall Gunter, CEO of Datametrex, said in a press release.

He added that the kit, which is manufactured by 1drop Inc., can also identify new variants of the COVID-19 virus, including the Delta variant.

With its headquarters in Toronto, Ontario, Datametrex AI is focused on technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Nexalogy.

In addition to its 1 Copy PCR kit, Datametrex also has several other COVID-19 detection kits, including the U-TOP COVID-19 detection kit, which is manufactured by Biomaterials in South Korea.

The kit is an in-vitro diagnostic product for real-time PCR-based section of COVID-19 and can do 96 tests in 1.5 hours.

Its PCLMDTM nCoV one step RT PCR Kit can also conduct 96 tests in 45 minutes, while the company’s iLAMP Novel-Co V 19 Detection Kit can do 96 tests in 20 minutes.

Shares of Datametrex are up 2.63 per cent, closing at $0.20 as of market close.
