Capitan Mining (CAPT) has drilled up to 1,352 g/t AgEq over 1.5 m at its Peñoles Project.

The result stems from the 2021-22 phase I drill program at the Jesús María Silver Deposit on the Mexican project. The deposit contains an initial 43-101 inferred resource of 7.5M tonnes at 62 g/t Ag (15M ounces) and 0.1 g/t Au (26k ounces).

The program seeks to locate new zones of mineralization and define the boundaries of high-grade ore shoots along structural intersections.

Highlights:

  • 1,352.3 g/t AgEq over 1.52 m (1,271 g/t Ag, 0.53 g/t Au, 0.49 per cent Pb and 0.65 per cent Zn)
  • 1,177.2 g/t AgEq over 1.52 m (1,044 g/t Ag, 1.03 g/t Au, 0.8 per cent Pb and 0.73 per cent Zn)
  • 368.3 g/t AgEq over 1.52 m (286 g/t Ag, 0.66 g/t Au, 0.38 per cent Pb and 0.49 per cent Zn)

The company will begin surface work including soil geochemistry and trenching sometime next week.

It has drilled 14 RC holes to date with 11 awaiting assay results.

“The first three holes reported from the Jesús María Silver Deposit, together with the recently reported hole 21-CARC-29 under the Capitan Hill Oxide Gold Deposit, demonstrate the significant growth potential for silver mineralization at the Peñoles Project,” stated Alberto Orozco, Capitan’s CEO.

“I am particularly excited for the results of hole 21-JMRC-01,” he added, “which confirm the continuity of high-grade silver mineralization from surface trenching. This high-grade zone has only been drill tested to shallow depths, and remains open to expansion down-plunge.”

Capitan Mining (CAPT) is up by 16.28 per cent trading at $0.25 per share as of 9:30 am EST.
