Cannara Biotech (CSE:LOVE) has announced its first successful cannabis harvest at its cultivation facility in Farnham, Quebec.

The building is one of the largest indoor cannabis cultivation facilities in Canada. Its considerable scale and location provide the company with a unique competitive edge. The state-of-the-art facility has best-in-class lighting, temperature and humidity controls.

Over the next 14 days, Cannara will carefully cure its first harvest on its original stems. The process will take place in vigilantly monitored rooms with ultra-precise humidity and temperatures. This tradition results in visually attractive and high-quality buds, with intact trichomes and preserved terpenes.

With the first harvest complete, Cannara’s facility will now swing into full production. Each week, the company will reap the harvest from two flowering rooms onsite.

Cannara Biotech’s COO, Barry Laxer, commented on the milestone achievement.

“Our core principle from the beginning of this venture has been premium quality always wins. All the measures we are committed to, from seed genetics to growing conditions to packaging protocols, are all aimed at producing the best possible finished product. That’s what retailers and their customers want,” he said.

Cannara’s milestone harvest coincidentally falls on April 20, which is 4/20 in the US date notation system. All over the world, the number 420 and date April 20 have become associated with cannabis culture. The date has also become an international day for cannabis-related protests and events, calling for legalisation.

The company will post a video about the harvest on its website today, at 4:20pm.

Cannara’s share price was up 12.5 per cent, and trading for 9 cents per share on Friday’s market close
