Canadian Premium Sand Inc. (CPS) has initiated a front end engineering and design (FEED) study for its proposed flat glass manufacturing facility.

The company also announced a non-brokered private placement after it received interest from a US investor. Based on the unsolicited offer from the investor, the company agreed to a US$1 million private placement at C$0.35 per share.

Proceeds will be used to progress the company’s business plan, including the engineering and design study.

Conducted by CMP, a global expert in glass technology, the study will test various ways to balance sustainability and operational efficiency at the company’s new plant.

AECOM, a Winnipeg-based company, will also assist with the process of applying for environmental and regulatory permits to further support the FEED study.

Through the study, Canadian Premium Sand hopes to design a facility that will be both cost-effective and environmentally sustainable.
