For us here on the West Coast it has been a hot autumn and the markets have been just as intense. This means Bullboard activity has also been sizzling.

Many sectors have seen new (and returning) companies generate a lot of discussion as a result. This week we’re highlighting three of the up-and-comers that are vying for the top spots in their sectors.

All our highlights this week look at how Bullboard users react to trends, losses, and opportunities. With emotional investments come emotional reactions, but with dropping temperatures, we also found plenty of cooler heads making their cases.

Tilray Inc. (TSX:TLRY, Forum) is one such stock working to rebound this week. The cannabis producer reported financial results for the first fiscal quarter ended August 31, 2022.

The company reported net revenue of $153.2 million and $166.5 million for the quarter on a constant currency basis.

International cannabis revenue was $10.4 million. On a constant currency basis, international cannabis revenue was $11.9 million.

$108 million was achieved in annualized cash cost-savings since the closing of the Tilray – Aphria transaction in May 2021, up from $85 million as of May 31, 2022.

Net loss was $66 million., while adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) was $13.5 million, the 14th consecutive quarter of positive adjusted EBITDA.

Datametrex AI Ltd. (TSXV:DMForum) has had a big week. The tech company working in the artificial intelligence, machine learning, and telehealth spaces received a purchase order from Lotte Home Shopping for $500,000.

Lotte Home Shopping is one of the most prominent mobile and TV app shopping channels in Korea and is a subsidiary of LOTTE group, the fifth largest conglomerate in Korea. It provides products and services through several distribution channels such as TV, home shopping, internet, mobile and data services.

Its subsidiary, Datametrex Electric Vehicle Solutions, also launched its Mobile Charging Vehicle (MCV) in British Columbia.

The MCV will be available for consumers to use on their electric vehicles for 24/7 on-demand roadside assistance services.

MCV comes with fast mobile charging technology with a speed of over 45kwh with emergency charging and 24/7 on-demand EV services.

DM EVS is trailblazing the electric vehicle (EV) industry with its leading-edge mobile charging units and proprietary mobile application.

HPQ Silicon Resources Inc.’s (TSXV:HPQForum) GEN3 PUREVAP Quartz Reduction Reactor is now operational.

The reactor seeks to transform quartz into high-purity silicon at a reduced cost and carbon footprint.

Technology provider PyroGenesis Canada Inc. (TSXV:PYRForum), will now test the reactor’s pilot plant over the next two weeks. Once parameters prove satisfactory, it will introduce materials into the hot reactor to enable process improvements. It will then operate the reactor over a few months of continuous production.

HPQ will initiate work on value-added silicon products, provide samples to potential off-takers to develop silicon-based applications, and advance the deployment of commercial-scale systems (2,500 tonnes per year).

HPQ Silicon is the only company bringing a new process for manufacturing silicon that is advancing alongside modern market needs.

Small-cap stocks are often more volatile than large-caps. Disconnects between value and price will continue to become more extreme, and for many investors, “value investing” is more important than ever. Keep tabs on undervalued stocks and prepare yourself for what will probably be a long and wild ride.

Next week we see how the major sectors are faring in October and which companies the Stockhouse Bullboards are focused on for the Fall trading season. Make sure to check back in here or subscribe to the newsletter to get the weekly Buzz review sent directly to your inbox.
