Bragg Gaming Group (BRAG) has appointed Canadian businessman and former politician Paul Godfrey to its Board of Directors, effective today.

Paul currently acts as the Chair of Postmedia Network, which he founded in 2010, and is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust as well as a director of Canadian-based airline Cargojet.

He has acted as Publisher and CEO of the Toronto Star and as President and CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays, where he assisted in the construction of Toronto’s SkyDome, now known as Rogers Centre, which was the first stadium to have a fully retractable motorised roof.

“I’m very excited to join the Bragg team,” Paul said.

“They’ve had an exceptional year in 2020 and are on track to becoming a leader in the world gaming space. I’m happy to add my expertise to the mission,” he added.

Prior to his business career, Paul was a prominent politician, holding office as Chairman of Metropolitan Toronto. He is also a recipient of the Order of Canada and of the Order of Ontario.

“Paul’s extensive experience in the media, gaming and sports worlds will be invaluable as we move forward with our rapid growth plans,” said Adam Arviv, CEO of Bragg Gaming Group.

“We’re extremely pleased to have him join the championship team that we’re building and look forward to his guidance,” he concluded.

Paul’s appointment follows a recent deal with Dutch-based JVH Gaming & Entertainment Group, under which Bragg’s subsidiary ORYX Gaming will provide its iGaming platform to JVH.

The agreement also includes an integration with Kambi Group, which signed a partnership with JVH in December last year.

Bragg Gaming Group is currently down 0.62 per cent to C$1.59 per share at 10:26am EST.
